Mavidol SL is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drug.

It is used in hospitals to relieve pain after operations.

Its active ingredient is ketorolac tromethamine and can reduce pain, swelling, redness and infection.

Do not use this medicine if you have any of the conditions listed below:

  • If you are allergic to tromethamine, ketorolac, or medicines containing ketorolac
  • If cetylsalicylic acid or other drugs effective for pain, fever and inflammation cause skin rash, hives, angioedema, asthma syndrome, cold and inflammation in the nasal cavities in your body
  • If you have a history of asthma
  • If you have or have had stomach and intestinal problems such as ulcers and bleeding,
  • In severe heart failure patients
  • If you have had a brain hemorrhage,
  • If you have low blood volume as a result of bleeding or severe dehydration (fluid loss)
  • If you have moderate or severe kidney problems or are at risk of kidney failure.
  • if you have liver cirrhosis or severe hepatitis
  • if you have a condition that causes bleeding easily (for example, hemophilia)
  • if you are taking a medicine that stops blood clotting (for example, warfarin, heparin or clopidogrel),
  • If you are taking other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin and ibuprofen, and in patients receiving probenecid (a medicine used to treat gout) or pentoxifylline (a medicine used for circulatory disorders),
  • If you are taking intensive diuretic therapy,
  • If you are using painkillers before and after surgery
  • If you will have a high risk of bleeding after surgery or if you are still bleeding after the operation,
  • If you are under the age of sixteen,

Do not use in the treatment of mild or chronic type of pain.

This medicine may cause tiredness, drowsiness, dizziness, impaired balance and vision, depression, and difficulty sleeping.

If any of these occur, consult your doctor.

In such a case, do not drive or use machinery.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medication.

The safety of this medicinal product for use in humans during pregnancy has not been established.

It has potentially dangerous effects on the course of pregnancy and on the unborn baby or newborn.

Therefore, Mavidol SL should not be used during pregnancy.

Mavidol SL makes getting pregnant even more difficult.

If you realize that you are pregnant during your treatment, consult your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

Since the substance called ketorolac trometamol in Mavidol can pass into breast milk, do not use Mavidol SL if you are breastfeeding or stop breastfeeding if you will continue to use it.

How Is Mavidol Used?

Mavidol should only be used in doses specified by the doctor with the recommendation of the doctor.

The recommended dose for adults is 1 tablet every 4-6 hours, up to a maximum of 40 mg per day.

This medicine should not be used for more than 5 days unless the doctor says otherwise.

Swallow whole without chewing.

It should not be used in children under 16 years of age.

If you are over 65 years of age, you should use this medicine with caution.

The elderly are at higher risk of serious side effects.

If any of the following side effects occur, stop using this medicine and contact your doctor immediately:

  • Headache,
  • Tingling, inability to feel hands and feet
  • Hyperactivity,
  • Problems with vision and hearing
  • Dizziness leading to imbalance
  • Swelling of hands, feet and legs.
  • Feeling of palpitations in the heart, slowing of the heartbeat or high blood pressure,
  • Sudden weight gain
  • Breathing problems
  • Photosensitivity, redness of the body and face, hives, acne and raised skin rashes
  • Itching or sweating, pale skin or redness of the face and neck,
  • Blood in the urine and kidney problems
  • Urinating more or less frequently
  • Pain on the side of the body,
  • Pain at the injection site, fever,
  • Thirst, dry mouth, taste changes, fever, weight gain or weight loss,
  • Feeling tired and generally not feeling well
